:: Lagoon bulutsu (M8/NGC6523)

Arkadaslar:
Asronomi egitmenlerimden, Jeff Thrush'in cektigi "Lagoon" bulutsunun inanilmaz bir goruntusunu gonderiyorum.
"Ayi"nin pencesinin ucundaki mini yansima ("reflection") nebulalara dikkatinizi cekerim.

Bu bulutsu'nun yer yuzunden (Hubble'dan degil) bu kadar ayrintili bir goruntsu oldugunu sanmiyorum.

Lagoon bulutsu (M8/NGC6523) , kuzey yarim kureden,4100 isik yili uzakta,"Yay Burcu" (Sagittarius) icinde, 1.5 derece uzunlukta ve 0.5 derece genislikte gorunmektedir.

"Lagoon" ismi, nebulayi ikiye ayiran karanlik uzanti nedeniyle verilmistir. En parlak bolumu, "Kum saati" ya da "hourglass" diye adlandirilir.

The Lagoon Nebula (also known as Messier Object 8 (M8) and NGC 6523) is a giant interstellar cloud, classified as an emission nebula and H II region, in the constellation Sagittarius. At an estimated distance of 4,100 light-years, the Lagoon is one of only two star-forming nebulae faintly visible to the naked eye from mid-northern latitudes. In binoculars, the Lagoon is a distinct oval cloudlike patch with a definite core, like a pale celestial flower. The nebula has a fragile star cluster superimposed on it, making this one of the leading celestial sights of summer night skies.

Rick bu inanilmz goruntuyu cekmek icin 3 saaten fazla calisti.

Being the 4th of July weekend, with a super clear night with no moon (how often does that happen here!), I decided to try a galaxy I've not tried before...NGC6946, which happens to be nicknamed the Fireworks Galaxy.

Not sure why I'd not noticed this gem, but the Ha regions are more abundant than I'd seen in a galaxy before (thus the name!). To do it justice, I added some Ha data to the red channel to show it off a little more.

I had some issues with the guide camera, so I wound up going unguided.
Even unguided, with great seeing and the great NJP mount, I was
getting around 2 arcsec FWHMs and nice round stars...a great night!

:: Peçe bulutsusu; NGC6960...

Siyah bir kadifenin üzerine saçılmis binlerce pirlanta taşınin üzerinde uçuşan ipek bir tül.
NGC 6960, diger adı "Veil Nebula" (peçe) binlece yil önce patlamış bir "supernova"dır. Gece yarısından sonra, doğu-güneydoğu göğünde, "Swan" (kuğu) yıldız kümesinin içinde bulunmaktadır. Bize 2500 yılda ulaşmıs olan bu görüntüyü, arkadaşım Clayton Kessler Manchester, Michigan'daki evinin arka bahçesindeki "Seven sisters observatory" diye isimlendirdiği (yedi kiz kardeş gözlem yeri) alanda çekmiştir.

Conditions: Excellent! Best night of the year so far

Film: None! DSLR @ ISO 800

Exposure: 3 X 600 seconds with 3 X 600 seconds dark frames

Comments: I took this shot as an experiment. Last year I was shooting 5 minute sub frames. Since I got the IDAS LPR filter I have been able to increase the sub-frame exposure. I tried a 10 minute sub frame to see if I could tease out some of the faint OIII and H-Alpha streaming down from Pickering's Triangular Wisp. Thin series of exposures shows a lot more than I have in my previous shots. The interesting news is the histogram was only at about 25% for each sub frame. I think I can increase the exposure to 15 or 20 minutes on this object. I will be revisiting the veil area all summer taking a good number of relatively long exposures - should be fun!

Comments: Got up at 2:30 to try to gather some photons. I had a few tracking issues and it got too light to shoot by 4:30 so I only had three 10 minute exposures to work with. Not too bad for a "classic" summer shot - WOOHOO - the Milky Way is back!!!!!

The Sombrero Galaxy (also known as M104 or NGC 4594) is an unbarred spiral galaxy in the constellation Virgo. It has a bright nucleus, an unusually large central bulge, and a prominent dust lane in its inclined disk. The dark dust lane and the bulge give this galaxy the appearance of a sombrero. The galaxy has an apparent magnitude of 9.0, making it a galaxy that can easily be seen with amateur telescopes. The large bulge, the central supermassive black hole, and the dust lane all attract the attention of professional astronomers.

Conditions:     First clear night in months, seeing and transparency fair at best
Film:               None!  DSLR @ ISO 800 

Exposure:       30 X 180 seconds with 3 X 180 seconds dark frames plus 6X60,5X30, 5X10 and 5X2 second exposures to blend in the center.

Comments:     Conditions were not the best but I am glad I had the chance to visit this old friend with the Megrez 90.

Frank Rocketman Uroda, Astronomi ve Roket konusunda profesyonel olarak ilgileniyor...

Yukarıdaki görüntü William Herchel tarafından 1798 yılında keşfedilen NGC 6946, dünyamızdan 10 milyon ışık yılı uzaklığında ve bir kutup yöresi gökadasıdır. RA (Bahar açısı) 20 Saat 35 dakika. Dec (Yükselim) 60 derece 09 dakika olup Kuğu (Cyganus) ve Sefe (Cepheus) burçlarının sınırındadır. 23 Haziran gecesi kuzey-doğu ufuk çizgisinin 57 derece üstünde +9,66 parlaklıkta (magnitude) görülmektedir.

NGC 6946 gökadası, dünyamızdan bakış açısına göre samanyolumuzun dış spiral kuyruğundaki toz ve gaz bulutu tarafından örtülmektedir. Bu toz bulutunun kirmizi renge geçirgenliği daha fazla olduğundan görüntü pembemsi renktedir.

NGC 6946 bilinen gökadaları içinde yeni yıldız oluşumlarının ve büyük yılsız patlamalarının en yoğun olduğu bir gökadadır. Bu gökadadai son yüz yıl içinde 8 defa süpernova gerçekleştiği gözlemlenmiştir. Bu sayı galaksimiz samanyolunda, yüz yılda bir olarak bilinmektedir.
